Guadalupe River was discovered in 1689 by Alonzo de Leon, who named it in honor
of the patron saint of the expedition. De Leon, and other later travelers,
considered it to be the most beautiful river in Texas. Today, its' scenic beauty
and clear waters still attract admiration from visitors throughout Texas.

Seguin, Texas, is approximately 30 miles northeast of
San Antonio on Interstate 10 and 125 miles west of Houston. To get to Sky
Valley from Interstate 10, take Exit No. 607 for State Highway No. 46, and go
south. This is a right turn if you are coming from San Antonio and a left turn
if you are coming from Houston. Go approximately 2.5 miles south on Highway 46
and, after crossing the Guadalupe River, you will find the entrance to Sky
Valley on your right. If you reach F. M. 725 you have gone too far.
